Our beloved Bistro 33 has reopened in new digs at the corner of Ditmars blvd. & 21st street in Astoria. Still cozy but on a larger scale. Lots of natural light and air coming through those big windows at this corner location. Not only that but a bar is in place (BYOB for now) and there is a separate sushi station dishing up some serious stuff. The kitchen is doing it's thing and serving up just what you'd expect from Chef Gary; Crawfish tempura with spicy sauce, Goat cheese crab cakes, tuna foi gras, eel roll with green tea salt, fried crab roll and of course the desserts are killer, Apple flap jacks with caramel sauce just to mention one. We had more but these dishes and the service really stood out for us. Can't wait to go back and try the main courses.
Yes they are still working out some kinks in the fist week or so but holy crap, what a good start.
