Since I am doing my once yearly July Pancake Hootenanny at The Griddle this year, I will be missing out on biscuits. Normally, I go to John O' Groats and get my fill of both. The Griddle selfishly does no make biscuits. This is an injustice, but one I must be resigned to.
I have had O Groats biscuits, and I like them. They remind me of the ones I found easily in Georgia as a child.
Where else can I get them, maybe even (gasp) for dinner? I've heard Pann's are good, as are Honey Kettle's. The Pines cafe was famed, but I think they are gone. I've heard Gaffey St Diner is good, if not traditional. Gravy is good, but a good plain biscuit (or 5) with honey and butter is a fine thing, too. Maybe with some other yummy items.
A basket of Biscuits butter makes things better.
Diana would eat them all if you let her!
Breakfast biscuits are very fine,
bountiful biscuits for dinner are divine!
Big, bouncy, bathed in butter,
Drenched in gravy- my heart's aflutter!
Flaky, tender, my oh my,
I gotta have my biscuits in July!
