Biscuit

Made it over to Biscuit twice this weekend. The place was doing good business both days.

The menu was hard to read and hiding behind one of the ceiling fans. When I ordered the BBQ sandwich I was curtly informed that I should be ordering what was called the 'Mr. Brown'. It came with one side and that side was the cole slaw that came on top. I ordered collard as an extra. They had some difficulty in understanding that I also wanted a side of biscuits.

This is no N.C. BBQ. It was more like a chopped pork chop on a bun. The bun had disintegrated by the time I sat to eat it. The cole slaw looked and tasted like it had been made with the butt of the cabbage and the collards were way too spicy. The biscuits were good and tasted like they had been made with Bisquick (that is not a bad thing in my book).

The next morning I went for a simple egg and bacon on a biscuit (they wouldn't server me ribs at 11am saying I would have to wait till 2). I was informed that this is known as the 'meat sandwich'. I was hoping that they might have some other type of meat instead of bacon. Thankfully it was a solid egg sandwich. Just like the kind you can get at any country gas station down south. The coffee was cold. Couldn't find a single salt and pepper shaker and only one napkin dispenser but it was half full.

Over all a disappointment but I am use to that when searching for good down home southern cooking.
