Thanks for the recommendations:
Started the evening at Soba in Mizner Park. Really wanted to try some good iranian black caviar but unfortunately, its not being imported much these days. Instead, had $200 worth of Caspian Oscetra which is about an ounce. Buttery, smooth, salty, and a little briney. Wonderful. Dirty Grey Goose Martini on the side for me and Tequila with lime for the wife. Gotta have vodka with caviar
Dinner was at Saporissimo on Palmetto in Boca. Oustanding rustic italian menu. Lots of interesting items for non italian eaters such as ourselves. For an appetizer, we shared a plate of home made pasta with a cheese sauce made with WHITE TRUFFLES. Delish. Best thing all night. The woodsy smell of the truffles alone was enough to make me plotz. Dinner was Elk chops in a foie gras sauce for me and Buffalo in a porchini sauce for the wife. Excellent but still the highlight was the white truffles. Red tuscan wine of some sort with the meal.
As for my bucket list, I was able to try high quality caviar, white truffles, and elk all for the first time. My birthday dinner was a great experience and I encourage everyone to step out of your comfort zones and try something new.
