Anybody care to give a review of Biaggi's in Davenport?
I had 7 o'clock reservations on a Tuesday night recently, got there at 6:58, was told I'd have to wait "about 15 minutes." It was a mob scene - people were waiting everywhere, outside as well as inside. One guy looked like he'd grown a beard just while waiting. Lots of kids and babies. And that dining room was LOUD, had acoustics like a giant reverberating railroad terminal. Not an appetizing scene. 15 minutes go by, no table, I handed in my beeper and said forget it. Overbooked like a doctor's office.
A few restaurants may be appealingly noisy (opah!) but this one turned me off, as did waiting that long for a reserved table. So what did I miss? Is it worth sitting in the middle of Grand Central Station to eat there?
