I had some good eats this weekend that I wanted to share with my fellow hounds:
Belle Vie was fabulous, with acception of Newt Gingrich checking out my rack (and I don't mean my rack of lamb). Luckily, my appetite remained and my sweetie and I had a lovely meal....5 courses with wine pairings.
Great amuse and bread to start, halibut with favas (yum), soft shelled crab with pasta (so delicate), rabbit loin (butter), lamb and great chocolate dessert. Great food, great wine, great service. It was the perfect upscale dining experience (and of course, we paid for it).
112 Eatery is my type of joint (along with everyone else who loves good food). Our party of 6 feasted on the cured meat and pickle plate, anchovies (loved), and scallops...the appetizers were wonderful. My dinner was black gnocci with calamari...the whole dish, from first bite to last was delicious. We had sides of califlower, shelled peas and aparagus....all were cooked perfectly! Finally the pot of chocolate was like silky, thick brownie batter. Loved it! The wine selection was nice as well.
Tonight I'm off to Solera....somebody stop me!
