bed stuy eats

a | May 12, 2004 04:52 PM

i work in bed stuy and am trying to compile a list of good eats in the 'hood. here's what i've got so far - i'm hoping that y'all can help me add to it! i've posted before, and people have suggested just going to fort greene for lunch, but it's a bit of a trek and i do live there, so i have ample opportunity to enjoy those lovely restaurants. other useful information that i don't have at all would be restaurants from other neighborhoods that may deliver to bed stuy. let me know if you have any thoughts...

so far, i have
***doctor's cave cafe - tiny but oh-so-pleasant cafe with a limited selection of homecooked, healthy, often organic food on marcy
***akwaaba cafe - upscale southern
***yolele - african bistro with somewhat americanized regional african dishes on fulton west of franklin
***le starving artiste - yet to open, but supposedly a cafe to serve crepes, sandwiches, and salads on nostrand btw halsey and hancock
***ali's roti - authentic trinidadian roti on fulton

there is also another place on putnam, somwhere between franklin and bedford, called db, but i haven't quite figured out what's going there. it looks like a bar - it's on the left side of the street if you are heading east. anyone else seen it?
