I am hoping (begging? pleading?) for recommendations for an unusual, pretty place to have a wedding either in Manhattan, or within driving distance of Manhattan. Probably 90 adults and 20 children (many under age 12). I'd love something in a more natural or fun setting... not the usual rental hall or restaurant with wall-to-wall carpeting, loud DJs and dry chicken, and not looking for super-formal (since there will be so many kids)... in fact, even a buffet would be fine!
Most interested in creativity and a beautiful setting. We spend part of the year in L.A., and my perfect wedding would probably be on a cliff in Malibu overlooking the ocean... but since our family/friends are mostly in the tri-state area, I'd love to recapture that same "California casual" feeling somewhere in Manhattan, Westchester, inner Long Island, New York/New Jersey border (near Manhattan), or along the Hudson River. Heck, I was even considering botanical gardens and zoos! Has anyone had a great experience with a caterer or location, or both?
I'm also wondering if anyone has had any experience with Abigail Kirsch Catering, or their locations. Thanking you in advance...!
