sfgate.com had mentioned these two places that I don't see mentioned on the board. Any reports?

Batter Bakery
Located in the kitchen of Stable Cafe, itself a converted carriage house. Try the lavender sea salt shortbread ($2.25) or cherry bran muffin - it's moist, light and filled with dried cherries ($2.50).

2124 Folsom St. (near 17th Street, in Stable Cafe); (415) 994-4944 or batterbakery.com. 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.

--------------

Rite-Spot Cafe Pie Night Two kinds of pie are offered on Friday nights at this Mission bar. Go for the mixed berry, Super Duper Lemon or Obama Pie - a pineapple, macadamia nut and coconut crumble pie (each: $6 per slice).

2099 Folsom St. (at 17th Street); (415) 552-6066. 2 p.m.-2 a.m. Fridays, or until pies run out.
