No news of that, unfortunately -- but wouldn't it be wonderful to have a Babbo, Lupa or Otto uptown!! Or a Po, 'ino, Apizz, Pearl's, etc....
Live and work on the UES and there is such a dearth of great, lively Italian or small plate Italian here. Been to Vero, Uva, Fig & Olive, Etats-Unis (and their bar across the street); and all the cookie-cutter Italian restaurants here. Nothing I'm rushing back to visit. Do love Erminia, Sushi of Gari, and Sushi Seki, and La Goulue at times. Beyoglu is fine. Will try Geisha.
Daniel, Cafe Boulud, Jo-Jo, Aureole, l'Absinthe, davidburke, etc are all first-rate, but not everyday, casual, convivial places.
Anything else to recommend uptown comparable to the aforementioned downtown spots?
