On a recent trip to Pacific Grove, we dined at one of our all-time favorites in the area, The Old Bath House at Lover's Point. One of the big attractions of this place is the gorgeous views you have while you dine of the ocean and the doting service.
You are greeted by the host/hostess and your coat or jacket will be checked which is a nice touch. Our service here has always been marvelous and this night was no exception. Our server was friendly, attentive and very professional. The chair is pulled out for you and your napkin will be placed on your lap which is a very nice old-fashioned touch that I like.
We were there for the early bird special which is served until 6:00. For starters I had the Castroville artichoke with the roasted garlic aioli which was very good. I always like to try some artichoke dish when I'm in this area.
The second course was the lobster bisque, my DH had the green salad which he said was very fresh and nice. The lobster bisque was also very good.
For my entree I had the salmon which was oak grilled with a lemon hollandaise sauce and the rice wtih toasted hazelnuts. Very good and cooked to perfection.
Dessert is also included in the price of $29. I chose the creme brulee which was very good with a decaf espresso. Service throughout the meal was very attentive without being obstrusive and our water glasses were never even half empty.
Ambiance is very romantic making this a very nice place for an intimate, special occasion. While we were leaving, the host asked to take our picture by the sign outside. I love their logo with the lady in the hat and the red lipstick.
I would highly recommend The Old Bath House to all of you romantics out there looking for a nice place to dine in the PG area. Gorgeous setting, warm and romantic ambiance, professional service and wonderful food at affordable prices. Bon appetit! www.oldbathhouse.com ***kim***
