If one had to pick a single reason to go to Baraka, it would be the lamb tartare. Superb, with just the right amount of spices, the lamb chopepd fine, but not anywhere near ground. The seared scallops and the fois gras "au torchon" were also fantastic. The selection of small plates let us have our entire meal that way. A return trip is in order to try the large plates.
(still can't get over the lamb!)
The place was full last Friday, but we were able to get the last open table, since it was still early. The prices were reasonable (~$100 for 2, with wine) and the place exuded romantic. Worth a trip to Portrero hill.
