Having been to The Minnow many times and consistently enjoyed the smart preparation of fresh seafood, I have followed with interest the contributions of fellow hounds to the continuing saga of Bar Minnow.
This evening, with a craving for mussels and a glass of Muscadet, my wife and I headed for our first experience at Bar Minnow.
We were greeted and seated promptly. Water glasses filled and a glass of muscadet brought within moments.
Ordered mussels and an oyster po'boy. Both arrived ten minutes later. First mussel tasted funky, so did second. Wife agreed. Waiter's attention was easily drawn to our table and he removed said mussels without question, leaving fries for us. Po'boy sparsely populated with oysters.
Check requested. One wine comped. No sign of mussels on check. Waiter tipped generously. Don't think I'll go back. Lesson learned: don't order shellfish on Sunday.
