Had another fine meal at Aquitaine recently: no news there, as I find the food and service consistently good to very fine, and a respectable value. Wine list is above average, too, with good values to be found.
However, it has always annoyed me that the place has a full bar but crappy bartending: we still talk about the hapless bartender there who liked to laugh and brag that he had no formal training: we could tell, and were not amused.
It was a refreshing and noteworthy change on our last visit to get a round of proper cocktails before dinner that showed some real pride and craft in bartending: chilled glasses, pretty garnishes, crisp and friendly service. A big upgrade, and an overdue one.
