Bambuddha Lounge Launches in Upper Tenderloin

DukeDee | May 10, 2003 12:14 PM

Miss Pearls Jam House/Backflip has been repainted
and reopened to the public this weekend as The Bambuddha Lounge- featuring "South East Asian Modern Cuisine." A yuppie investor group and the owners of Sweet Heat/Nobhill Cafe are involved. The look is West LA w/ soft lighting, hard edges, indoor fountains and a pool side patio.
The food served at their pre-opening events: bias
cut Vietnamese Spring Rolls (do they only come w/
bean sprouts and Napa Cabbage)and Mahogany Beef Ribs
(corn starch, brown sugar and Costco quality meat).

For the "get there first" crowd- get here quick-
The Bambuddha Lounge w/ its super trendy look
and pseudo-edgy vibe should have a very short shelf life.
For those of you unfamiliar w/ the Upper Tenderloin,
Drugs(several kinds) are available up the block and
sex(also several kinds) are available around the corner.
