Okay, so I'm not sure if anyone knows what this is. I'm from New York City, and I'm not going to start whining about how good the pizza is there compared to here...blah blah blah.
However, when I lived in Astoria, Queens there was this bakery near my house that served sicilian pizza. But it wasn't really sicilian, as the sauce was on top. I called it bakery pizza, and one of my paisans from Brooklyn says they call it Grandma pizza out there.
I just had a hankering for it. Buttery crispy dough, and great cheese that doesn't overpower. (Sigh, everytime I visit this board, I get hungry. Really hungry.) Anybody have any idea what I'm talking about and where to find it?
