Bahn Mi Ba Le in El Cerrito

Stopped by at Ba Le for a vietnamese sandwich today for lunch. I had the no. 6 sandwich ($2.25) - bacon - it was very yummy! made with the fresh bacon cut of pork but cooked down so it didn't seem overly fatty like it can be - just seemed very savory. meat filling looked nicely browned and was moist and there was a generous portion. bread was nicely warmed and crisp - think I've had better but I wasn't focusing too much on the bread as I was enjoying the sandwich. ask to go heavy on the peppers if you like it spicy - my sandwich was light on the jalapeno but that's fine with me. this one seemed even better than one's I've had in the past .... there are probably slightly better sandwiches to be had in SF ( Saigon, Wrap Delight ) and in the South Bay but I'm very grateful to have an option of this quality so close to home. Check them out if you're nearby. The lychee drink was pretty good also. They also are offering pho and a few other noodle dishes as well - haven't tried them yet.
