Recently I re-tried the Korean restaurant on Rt 1 in Edison, NJ, Woo Jeon. My prior attempt, the food was fine (I ordered the Seafood Udon soupbowl). There was sufficient variety of seafood in it, and the number of appetizers was overwhelming. The food was great, but having gone there as a solo, I was served my food and was forgotten after that. This was about 5 PM on a Thursday, with the staff just talking amongst themselves, with the restaurant fairly empty until later in dinner time. I had to flag a busboy to just get water.
I figured that it was a fluke, so I returned again a month later. The appetizers were good, but seemed to contain less per dish.
I ordered my same Udon, but they brought it out while I was still having my appetizer. This time, however, there was about half as much seafood in the soup this time. And again, after my bowl was served, the staff (again around four thirty on a Thursday) ignored me.
I just wanted to see if ANYONE even would come over to check on me...not even the busboys. Again, their conclave of staff stood around talking, occasionally looking at me...God forbid come to me and ask if I needed anything.
Around ten minutes after I finished my meal (and mind you, the waiter never came to my table since I was served the soup) the waiter went to the CASHIER to place my desert, a cut orange, with my check under it, by the register. Not even the decent courtesy to bring it to ME!
After this, I just went to the cashier, told him of my being abandoned, showed him I didn't even get the desert (which of course I was entitled to). The waiter cooly apologized, but did nothing to appease my displeasure. Charged me full price (didn't even take off for the orange...I'm not that petty, but ANY display of trying to make things better would have been appreciated.
Anyone have similar experience with this at Woo Jeon?
