Babbo, macaroons at le maison de chocolat vs fauchon

So I finally got to visit Babbo last nite with my bf. sadly, the only amusing part was seeing this lady who was like 6'4" tall and 87 lbs. we ordered their signature dishes like beef cheek ravioli, mint love letter, pig foot, lamb's tongue vinaigrette and a quail dish. They were all above average but didn't wowed me. I don't know if it's my not so sophisticated palate or the cook of the nite, but i left with little disappointment. the service and the wine was excellent though. To be honest, i think i like Lupa much better than babbo. Lupa's pork dishes and penna cotta desserts are the best things i've tasted in my life.
now for the macaroons, i am going to stick with le maison de chocolat. had a chance to taste ones from Fauchon last nite and they were a huge disappointment..especially when they charge $5 for each macaroon. to note, le maison de chocolat charges $4.25 a piece. =)
