Azuri Cafe

I just read Jim's Azuri tale of woe. There's no two ways about it, the owner can be difficult to deal with.
I've often wondered why it is that some of the better food spots are often owned by off kilter folks. The Soup Kitchen International, Shopsins, and Melampo Imports come to mind as places where I have had to put up with a fair amount of wierdness to partake in their good grub.

I will tell you that I have had pleasant and enjoyable meals at Azuri that have included conversation with Ezra, the owner. I have dined there with my family, which includes two young children, and he couldn't have been nicer. But he can be ornery and make you wince at the way he treats people at times.

Had you stayed, you would have had the best falafal and chicken shwarma in town, bar none. The soups are also delicious, all at reasonable prices. I suppose the price may include what he extracts from your soul if he goes off. It's not for the faint of heart, no matter how many crack house dances one may have played at.
