Despite all the reviews, it was our first chance to drop into Aziza for what we thought would be a quick meal last Thursday evening.
We walked out astounded at the amazing meal accompanied by fantastic cocktails and dessert. One of the best meals we have ever experienced! Restaurant filled up fast and service by Max the very knowledgeable and professional waiter was 5 star. Our meal consisted of the following, all of which we would order again, although the menu items all are so enticiing, we are anxious to return and try others.

Extensive fun menu. We are Pimms Cup fanatics, so tried their Cucumber Fresca Martini, described as fresh juicy cucumbers muddled with pimm's no. 1, shaken with hendrick's cucumber infused gin & lemon juice. This drink is our new favorite and although not a traditional version, was the Best use of Pimms we have experienced anywhere in the world. We would love to join friends here for drinks just to taste some of the other unique combinations of creative quality cocktails.
Mediterranean spreads of aged balsamic eggplant mousse, roasted pepper & pomegranate, yogurt-dill, grilled flat bread $9
We've had the yogurt-dill spread before, but this was the best ever! Also the unique pomegranate spread-delicious and the superb eggplant, better than and unlike any we have tasted in past.
Western grasslands kefta skewers grilled grassfed beef & grapes over cucumber & torpedo onion salad, black sesame vinaigrette $8
tiny meatballs skewered with delicate tasting veggies with tangy sauces atop perfect slaw-like salad.
Kumquat enriched niman ranch lamb shank
bergamot infused dried fruits, cranberry couscous, grilled green onion $17
This was a huge rich Lamb Shank served with their delicious moist and rich couscous dotted with tangy cranberrys, with kumquat and bergamot aromas and taste sensations--all unusual and wonderful tasting.
Grilled cattail creek farm rosemary lamb brochettes
steamed saffron couscous, vegetable stew, braised chard $16
Good size serving of delicately flavored tender lamb served with delicious saffron infused couscous, rich and moist and the best tasting (similar to Navrantan Korma on Indian menus) vegetables in creamy sauce with slightly bitter perfect swiss chard.
Dessert (by newly hired pastry chef formerly of Postrio and Town Hall- Janet Rikala=2004 Pastry Chef of the Year!):
Carrots Gone Tropical -many thin layers of carrot cake rubbed with a coconut cream cheese filling, toasted coconut chips & pineapple-currant chutney.
We could not resist the above tempting description of Carrot Cake (one of my all time dessert favs) on menu. Served a deconstructed thin slice of many layered carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and a small bowl with ingredients to be poured over cake. Those ingredients were currants which had been soaked in some type of liquor, freshly small dice of pineapple, curls of fresh coconut which was lightly toasted all adding up to the ultimate carrot cake. Can not wait to try other offerings!!
Tea selection to accompany desserts well thought out and varied (as was wine selection) to enhance the food choices. Again waiter well versed and patient in his explanations and suggestions.
Meal was one of our all time favorites anywhere, a delight and a bargain given the exquisite ingredients and perfect preps.
