had a really good pumpkin pie at Oyster bar in grand central.
very beautiful orange-ish brown color, it's so fresh, and very, very delicate & silky texture.the crust is super thin, yet it's crispy.this beautiful slice comes with of course, fresh made semi sweet whipped cream - NOT from a can -. it's just so good!
I've been to Oyster bar pretty much frequently for more
than 10 yrs.and mostly only for the desserts.I useally
don't go in the dinning room, the counter room is my spot.and I just have coffee (pretty good) and the cakes which I walked up to the dessert wagon and choose one from the many desserts of the day - this is the best part!!-. I don't know how many people agree with this, but they make one of the best dessrets in NY. I especially like their layered cake.
I've never a fan of the food here, except New england
clam chowder, stews, pan roasts, and thier HIDDEN lunch time only sandwhich menu - they don't show you unless you ask - like boullabaisse sandwhich ( so good!), oyster po' boy, tuna burger.( untill 3pm )
I love these food here.
the pumpkin pie is seasonal cake.shouldn't be missed.
