Since I asked for help in an earlier post, I thought it only fair that I share an experience with the board :o)
My wife and I paid for a babysitter while staying at the MGM and still couldn't bring ourselves to go anywhere else to eat and gamble a little. We had reservations at Nobhill, but my wife had a craving (look out I know) for chinese food. The in-house restaurant, Pearl, did look nice from the outside.
We really did try to enjoy our meal and ordered the tasting menu to let the chef dazzle us. Course after course of uninspired, bland, local-strip-mallesque dishes assailed us. When finally we could stand no more, a brilliant shrimp with xo sauce arrived! I swear it was one of the finest examples of that dish I have ever eaten anywhere in the world.
But it was not nearly enough to save the day. Everything else, and there was a lot of it, was garbage. Do yourself a big favor and order a takeout of xo sauce or avoid the place.
