Aventura area Dining Alone suggestions needed for an elderly gentlemen!

My father in law has recently become widowed, and he is 83 years old, and alone for the first time in over 60 years. I would like to compile a list for him of places that he could go out to eat where he wouldn't feel terribly uncomfortable dining alone. I know one can dine alone anywhere, but it would be better if there were other single diners around as well, so he wouldn't feel isolated.

Where are some good dinner spots?

He lives in the Aventura area, and drives and walks with no problem. He is open to most cuisine, and although he eats kosher in the house, he will dine out non kosher, or bring in take out that is parve and non meat.

So far, some of the lunch casual suggestions I've come up with are:

-Whole Foods for take out and tables to eat a bite there of their prepared foods.

-Java and Juice for salads
-Starbucks for coffee
-Shalom Haifa
-Pollo Tropical
-Katz's deli

I am out of town, so Thank you for your help!
