Ave. A Sushi, ok food, but great atmoshphere worth a revisit

Saturday night I wanted sushi and my husband wanted something vegetarian plus a cocktail. No Japanese places in the East Village came to mind except for Avenue A Sushi. I hadn't been there in ages (8 years or so). The golden margarita was perfect. The appetizers were pretty good, cold noodle dish with a peanut dressing and a fried tofu dish with a miso sauce that was excellent. The sushi was just average, as expected, my husbands tempura was ok, But it was the atmosphere that was REALLY fun. They still have a DJ spinning, and the staff was really happy the place was really alive. I don't know if it was the strong cocktail or what, but I look forward to going there again soon. It's like a fun mini night out all in one meal.
