I have waited to make sure of consitency, but now I feel ready to post. Auntie Em's Carrot Cake cupcakes are truly the cupcakes dreams are made of.
Huge, moist, and with enough cream cheese frosting (almost too much, if that's possible!) Chock full of walnuts, shredded carrot, raisins and spice flavor, these remind me so much of Just Desserts carrot cake, the cake I grew up on in San Francisco.
The red velvet have been mastered as well, where previously I found them too dense and dry, they are now perfectly moist and a tremendous treat. And again with the volumes of frosting! I'm still feeling that Doughboys edges them out a little, but it's getting close.
They run about $3.50 each but are good for a couple of days or are easy to share. I'm not so much a fan of their chocolate or coconut, but some might find the less sweet chocolate cupcakes a blessing.
While I enjoy the smaller size and fun, delicate flavors of Leda's cupcakes, when I want a major dose of manly cupcake, Auntie Em's fits the bill.
