Asuka for lunch

Zoe | Jan 20, 2006 05:57 PM

Partner has been housebound for two weeks and is in revolt for a food outing, so today after the umpteenth visit to the Dr to see the offending foot, we stopped at Asuka for lunch. It was about 11.45 am (stopped first at Katie's Pets for Devil Chow's special kibble - he was 11 years old on Wednesday and has HIS likes too). Asked if Mme Zoe could put her foot up on a stool at the Sushi Bar - no problem the welcoming owner said, holding the door open, ushering us in. Our favorite Ken was at the counter and we had a great lunch of baby scallops with lemon and salt, fresh tuna roll, spanish mackerel, outstanding yellowtail and some thing called Matsui roll which was albacore covered in seaweed, avacado, seseme seeds and a yummy sauce. Lots of great hot green tea (I LOVE their tea). Bill was $42 for a lotta sushi plus a nice tip for Ken.

Westwood Blvd just south of Wilshire on the east side
