an apple fritter to rule them all

i consider myself a huge apple fritter fan. i try them at every mom and pop donut stand i come across. i've lived near the farmer's market for 3 years, and never really bothered to try Bob's Donut Bar (or is it Coffee Bar? - whatever) - until the other day. i opted for the apple fritter and i was very impressed. let me count the ways:

1 - it was smaller than your average fritter - which would normally be kind of a bummer - BUT this was just right for one sitting (no leftovers)

2 - real hints of buttery goodness that you know comes from only the best donut frying/baking tehnique known to raise your cholesterol.

3 - just the right amount of fritter glaze. not too much and evenly distributed. giving way to occasional pieces of apple (a rarity in today's fritter)

4 - crispy at the ends - i personally dig these parts of the fritter. i like dark chicken meat and crispy fritter pieces, if that is wrong - i don't want to be right.

there you have it. Bob's is located in the Farmer's Market at 3rd and Fairfax. If you know of a better fritter - please let this guy know. Thanks.
