Yesterday, I had a little bit of time before a meeting to have a light, early dinner at Europane. Went for the roasted red pepper-goat cheese sandwich on ciabatta bread (slathered with a bit of pesto). Should have asked the bread to be lightly toasted (for that nice, warm crunch!) but nevertheless, it was very good. Nothing mind-blowing, but a reliable, simple, honest sandwich.
But the highlight of that meal was the apple crisp. It was taken out of the oven quite recently, so it was still a little bit warm. And the apples! Sumi said that she used some pink lady apples; the tartness and sweetness mingled together perfectly. I really enjoyed the crisp part too (usually it tends to be ultra sweet). Interestingly, the apples were sliced really thinly.
I've been meaning to try out her chicken pot pies, but haven't had the chance yet. It seems to be quite an elusive item... will have to remember to order it next week.
