I left things to the last minute, which is never good, but here goes.
My husband and I would like to go out for our anniversary next Saturday night and we have a few constraints. We're dropping the chowpup off at an activity in Greenwich that starts at 8 and we need to be back to pick him up at 10:30, so I'm thinking an 8:15-8:30 reservation in Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, maybe Norwalk or New Canaan.
We've been to Napa and Co several times for anniversaries, birthdays etc, so we really like it, but we'd like to try something new. But hopefully the fact that we like Napa gives you a sense of what we're shooting for. it doesn't have to be new american, but Napa is about right for fanciness, price and food interesting enough that we wouldn't take the child (who can be a reasonably adventurous eater when the mood strikes, but who is still only 11).
I did some searches on this board, so got some ideas from that, but nothing is popping so far. Thomas Henklemann looks like it might be more formal than we really want. We've never tried the Delmar, but I see that it's Provencal and Mediterranean, but we're leaving for a week in Provence later in the month, so I'm thinking we should have something else. I know people rave over the food at Columbus Park, but the menu isn't looking like anything special or unusual. Elm sounds really good, but there's nothing available at the right time, at least not on Open Table.
So, is there anything left?
