Been taking advantage of their $3.50 combo breakfast lately. Nice soy milk (rewarmed in microwave) and a very well made array of dim sum items.
In the past, many hounds have praised the delicacy of their freshly made cheong fun/rolls of rice sheets with savoury fillings (e.g. shrimp, char siu) -- they're still very good, and probably one of the best renditions of this item in the area.
Chive (jiu cai) dumplings with shrimp are also fresh - a nice crispy caramelized dough on the bottom and plenty of chive flavour.
Glutinous rice with char siu/roast pork and lup cheong/waxed sausage bits is quite savoury, even if it's not the best I've ever had.
For a light and economical breakfast in Chinatown, this place is really hard to beat. Personally, I prefer it to the dim sum houses, even if the selection is smaller. Yet to try New Shanghai though, given the mixed reports. Will try to find a chance soon to add my 2 cents into the mix.
