I wouldn't ordnarily post about this meal but there have been a number of recent posts about sparse attendance at Angon. Well, the word must have gotten out.
My partner and I arrived at as walk-ins at 8:00PM this past Saturday. The place was about 70% full when we came through the door and within 20 minutes all of the tables were occupied.
The Keema Paratha was hot and perfectly spiced. My partner pronounced the Lamb Vindaloo as "as fine a dish as I've had anywhere." My Chicken Dopeajee was subtly spiced and had tremendous depth of flavor. An order of garlic nan was perfect.
Bottles of Sapporo set the food off nicely. Unfortunately we had the last 2 bottles and had to settle for Asahi for our second round.
On the down side we ordered a Chicken Lolipop starter, listed on the menu as a Saturday Special. Unfortulately, it wasn't special in any way. Bland and tasteless - avoid this at all costs.
Service was attentive and there were no awkward delays between courses.
Angnon is at the top of it's game.
