andy's fruit ranch and noon-o-kebab

i'd forgotten how exciting andy's fruit ranch is, till i dropped in last week after an excellent dinner at noon-o-kebab. i needed some pomegranite molasses and they had that as well as several aisles worth of imported packaged and canned and jarred products. also a butcher counter full of lamb's tongues and heads and other 'non-american' meaty parts. i wasnt too impressed with the cheese counter (al-khayaimh across the street has better bulgarian feta, which i love). decent looking produce and a very clean store.

i have a soft spot in my heart (and stomach) for noon-o-kebab(which means 'bread and kebab'), after one of the owners brought the culinary historians a enormous feast to share after her lecture last year. the portions are generous and reasonably priced. the kebabs are juicy and the attractive room is a welcome change from the plain storefronts on the block (al-khayaimh, georges, etc.)the homemade feta is a real treat and you wont leave feeling hungry or unwelcome.
