There's been so much ambivalence on this board about Amuse (it's kept me at bay) that I feel a (pleasant) duty to report on my recent inaugural supper.
First, I have to say that the reception and service was professional, warm, and utterly in keeping with the space they've created. It really feels like it has the makings of a neighborhood restaurant. The main dining room does feel a little close and could use something-- maybe different lighting? to push close over the edge into intimate.
The calamari salad was less calamari and more frisee than the menu led me to expect but everything else was plate-lickable and beautifully presented (ie, technically accomplished and appropriately restrained: unfussy). Flat-iron steak was unexpectedly, almost liverishly concentrated and perfectly cooked. The ribs merit a separate thread.
A very happy experience.
