For starters, The FMW received a shipment of fresh Razor shell.
Steamed with garlic and green onions. It was amazing, Sweet, buttery, fresh razor shell, a real treat.
The soup of the day was Tofu, and watercress in a fish stock. Light, with no fishiness at all. While subtle in flavor, it had great taste. Note that it was boiled in a way it was almost white in color.
We ordered one of the combos that were on the Chinese menus. cost:80$
We received a dish composed of fish, 2 type of mushrooms, lotus root and snow pea. While the dish soups bland, it had the correct amount of wok hei to make it stand out. It was great.
Long Bean, Sichuan style, was in my opinion, the best dish of the night. It was a tasty, a little bit spicy, a full of Umami flavour. (Side order, totally worth it)
Snow Pea and Pork Neck, XO sauce. The pork neck was the best meat dish of the night, the snow pea allowed the dish to be not as salty as it could have been.
Free-range Chicken and jelly fish. While this dish is usually prepared in advance and chop on order. The chicken was just out of the boiling pot, and passed in an ice bath for a really short time. We know this because when it arrived at the table, the chicken was still warm. It was a solid dish, while not spectacular.
salt and pepper Tofu and Fried fish: Tofu was silky, and crispy, and spicy and delicious. The fish was fried to perfection. Great dish.
Preserved green and Pork Belly: (side order) Not my favourite dish, but technically speaking, it was flawless and the greens were of good quality. My dining companions seems to have appreciated this dish more than I did.
Tofu dessert: while I'm not a fan of those, my friends told me it was quite good.
It was a great deal if food for 6 person, I don't remember what we payed, but it was dirt cheap.
