My husband and I went to a city harvest charity auction at artisanal a few months back...we bid and won a dinner for 4 in my home with Michael Sullivan, the chef of Le Zinc (formerly the sous chef at Chanterelle).
I have got to tell you, it was absolutely the most AMAZING meal ever.
My husband doesn't eat meat, hence the fish bent to the menu:
Salmon 3 ways, pastrami, gravlax, smoked with proper accompaniments.
Terrine of chicken and duck
Tuna tartare with taro chips and guacamole
1st course: Lobster bisque with onion tarte
2nd: Grilled salmon with a tomato vinigrette
main: seared scallops with butter/chive sauce and haricort vert.
cheese course: an assortment of french cheeses with pear and cranberry walnut bread
dessert: Fresh strawberry crepes, pot du chocolate, maple syrup creme caramel and the most fabulous brownies ever.
All cooked in my UWS apartment with 4 burners and 1 oven.
I'm still full. (and we got all the leftovers).
What a guy. What a meal.
I can't wait to try le zinc!~
