I'm needing inspiration for something crunchy/carb-y to round out a picnic lunch for a b-day Sunday and watch the Blue Angels at Marina Green in SF. I'm shooting for the satisfaction of crunchy chips but something more fun/unique/different. Also something that doesn't need a fork, so potato or rice salads are out. Also should I add a veggie side, too? Any ideas??
I clearly need something to round this menu out!
Here's the menu:
** pressed sandwich wedges: two types 1. pepper salami, pastrami, brie, basil leaves, roasted red pepper, olive oil and balsamic vinegar 2. humboldt fog on crusty round walnut bread, pressed, cut in wedges, and individually wrapped
** fried breast of chicken chunks on skewers with apricot-jalapeno dipping sauce
** b-day cake: slice of moist lemon pound cake topped with fresh berries and mixture of fresh whipped cream and crumbled meringue cookies
**beverages: wine, beer, cans of juice, water
