Alberto Trattoria in Glen Burnie

I had a very interesting experience at Alberto's last evening that I feel should be shared. Myself and 3 others visited the restaurant for the first and last time. The waiter started by sharing with us the specials of the evening, one was a seafood assortment appetizer of which we ordered two to share. The other was a salmon app with goat cheese, I ordered this selection. The apps came and everything was delicious. Then he asked for our entree order. We ordered 3 Rockfish (on the menu for $22.95) and 1 filet mignon (on the menu for $29.95). He proceeded to inform us of the evenings side dishes that would accompany our meal and asked if anyone would care for anything different. I asked for a side of asparagus and was informed it would be at an added charge. Fine with me. About two minutes later, he comes back to the table and says the chef is going to make us a special sauce for our rockfish. Fine. The food was fantastic. Then the bill came and we were puzzled as to why it cost $240 for what we had consumed. We were shocked to see the 2 seafood samplers cost $55, but oh well, we had not asked the price, so shame on us. But I questioned the waiter why do 3 rockfish add up to $84.00 and he said "Oh, but you had the special!" (which we did not order)... and then I questioned another $44 item on the bill "Oh, but we added the lobster to the appetizers"..I said "but you already charged us for the apps at $55" and he says "Oh, but the lobster is extra" Needless to say, it was a very unpleasant finish to a very nice meal. $260 later, we felt very deceived and disapointed. My recommendation should you decide to visit this establishment. ASK THE COST BEFORE YOU ORDER ANYTHING!
