Adobo Grill vs Chilpancingo (or other Mexican)

First, apologies. I am from Mexico and have been in Chicago not long. I tend to avoid Mexican restaurants because I rarely find them to really have Mexican food but rather an "Americanized" version of the food I love.

I have not been to either place

I am going to dinner with my wife and two other couples. One of my four friends loves Mexican Food (he is English, and his standard is Adobo Grill) and he is suggesting Adobo for the get-together. One of our other friends does not eat red meat, which should not be a problem (but I wonder if that extends to not liking richly cooked dishes). My wife and I will try Mexican (hoping it really is authentic)

a) Which of the two restaurants do you recommend best?
b) If you were a "rookie" in Mexican food (i.e., my friend that may not like complicated moles), would you change the answer?
c) Is there a better option than these two? We are looking to spend in the neighborhood of $50 per head (or less)
