Early dinner at Hundred Acres tonight.
I'm not the kind of guy to write 5 paragraphs about a 3-course meal but I will say the following:
Our apps: Zucchini flowers with crab and corn relish served on big basil leaves....deeelish.
Trio of tea sandwiches...well done, tasty, she loved them.
Mid-course salad of morels and a mixed-milk cheese....a treat of mixed textures and flavors.
My sirloin steak with pesto and a sort of vegetable Napoleon was perfect. I'll be back for that. Finally someone knows what medium-rare means.
I kept reaching across the table to steal slices of her rabbit, wrapped with bacon, and fingerling potatoes, because I have an insatiable appetite when the good stuff is around...and the dish's clean, fresh flavors went well with her rosé and my nebbiolo in good and different ways.
