Acapulco - Changes for the Better

Don't know if this new menu has been launched at all of the Acapulco restaurants, but the one by us on Ocean Park in Santa Monica has come up with a much better and more authentic menu.

I know, this may sound like heresy, but we went last night and I was pleasantly surprised but what they have changed. No more ground beef anything.

Nice table side presentation/preparation of a pretty darn good guacamole. The are featuring food from various regions of Mexico, (this month was the food from the Guadalajara region).

Plus they totally redid the interior of our branch, and the service was really quite good and attentive.

I am not saying it's a destination restaurant or anything, and they had nowhere to go but up, however I say they have done some good things and I will go again. (My wife, the non-chowhound was very upset to find out she couldn't get her ground beef chimichanga...oh well you can't please everyone)
