I dont mean The Olive Garden, Tgi, Outback, Italian Bistro kind of stuff. Those restaurants are aiming directly at mediocrity. I mean restaurants make pretensions at being good, charge a lot of money, and really stink. Restaurants that other Philadelphians (or suburbanites, or tourists) seem to think are the cats pajamas when they really are the emperor's new clothes.
An example would have been the now defunct Bookbinder's on second street.
Or, in my very opinionated opinion, anything Derek Davis is involved in.
