Hi! We just got back from our first trip to SF and had a fabulous time. I wanted to take a minute and say thanks for the help I got from this site. I will never be a true chowhound, but the information I got here helped immensely in our trip.
We had a special birthday dinner for my husband at the House of Prime Rib. Thanks, Rich, for the suggestion and thanks everyone else for the good info about it. He loved it and we had a great time! Truly a unique experience and absolutely delicious.
We had a couple other good meals while we were there and I appreciate the help I got from the folks here as I was doing the pre-work for the trip. One night the concierge recommended a small Italian restaurant near our hotel called L'Ottava. I don't remember reading about it on here anywhere, but it was wonderful. There was a bruschetta special that night that was fabulous (not on the regular menu), the entrees were delicious, and the tiramisu was to die for. You might want to give the place a try.
Thanks again for the help.
