Before a Chowhound lunch this week, I never had the courage to deviate from the ethereal margherita pizza d'o.c. at 2 Amys.
I must say I was very much let down by the other pizzas. The vongole (cockles and cheese) was ok, and two others (polpettini and another with anchovies) were less than good. The delicate, beautiful aromas and flavors that I have come to know and love were killed by salty ingredients, plus cheese that did not even seem to melt well.
So I'll now think of 2 Amys pizza with an asterisk, major thumbs up for the truly great margherita, but poor to fair for the others.
