1st Time to Brenda's French Soul Food

Finally got a chance to try Brenda's for lunch today. Great looking specials on the board, but I went with the 7x7 mag recommendation and ordered the shrimp po' boy ($9.50 w/ fries or slaw). Very tasty. Not as many and not as big shrimp as at Yat's, but at least it didn't fall apart on me. Still, if you don't lose a few shrimp while eating a po' boy, it probably didn't have enough to start with. It came on toasted garlic bread, so I doubt it is authentic, but still very tasty. It may have been just a tad heavy on the chipotle moyo though. By comparison, the Yat's offering was kind of dry.

Lots of other things looked really good and the waitress said they offer shrimp grits on occasion, so I'll definitely be back.
