Tavern at the End of the World’s Cullen Skink

Tavern at the End of the World may not have the most inviting exterior, but once inside, Boston hounds are finding it a great place to be, thanks to its "warm homey vibe." The restaurant and bar is located in Charlestown, just over the border from Somerville, and MC Slim JB thinks the Belgian-leaning beer selection is impressive.

On a recent visit, smtucker spotted a new soup on the menu: a twist on the Scottish specialty "cullen skink." Dubbed the "smoky seafood chowder," the soup consists of "smoked haddock in a lovely fish broth with potatoes and cream. For me, it was a main course soup since it was sold in a rather large bowl with some toast on the side," says smtucker.

The rest of the traditional pub fare is worth a try as well. phatchris and hckybg both recommend the fish and chips, which are served with "a nice curry sauce courtesy of the Nepalese chefs." Meanwhile, BJK likes the chipotle burger and onion rings, though smtucker warns that the rings are heavy on the breading.
