Overheard on the San Francisco Bay Area Board

"A friend and I went there for lunch yesterday and pronounced it a success and a very good addition to Mill Valley. It's a small menu, mostly of small items, and the four things we had were the highest quality. We shared a bowl of sun choke soup with brown butter and fried hedgehog mushrooms ($6.50) and three types of sliders: thai shrimp ($4.50), chicken (can't remember the description, $3.50), and filet mignon beef ($4.50), the generous piece of tender beef at least 1/2 inch thick. All were were very good indeed." – Malcolm Ruthven on Sweetwater in Mill Valley

"Everything was fresh, well seasoned (the "hot" level was reasonably hot, but next time I'll go for extra spicy), and nothing was greasy. The tikka masala was as good of a rendition as I've had with perhaps little more complexity than most. I'd never had momo before but found the filling to be very savory and juicy (the owner recommended them). I'll definitely go back to try more dishes." – SLRossi on Hamro Aangan in Albany

"The old Jerome's BBQ location (North McDowell and Old Redwood Hwy) now holds a Vietnamese restaurant less than a month old. I stopped in this afternoon and gave it a shot. It's very nice and clean inside with orchids along the entryway. The menu is fairly small with your usual pho and bun bowls, but they also had banh mi. I got a pork banh mi and a five spice chicken rice plate. I hate to say it but I wasn't really impressed with either one. They weren't bad but they weren't great either." – Andrew H on Ngoc Thanh in Petaluma
